About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The dress is made of a cotton knit, which I dyed purple using Rit Dye. All of the white parts (apron, shawl, underskirt, cuffs, headband) are kona cotton and were free-patterned. My tail and ears are fleece, and the tail is stuffed with polyfill and shaped with a floral wire frame. It took two petticoats and a pair of bloomers to get the poof I needed! I made the garters from elastic and buttons.
My friend toiea made Posokichi for me - Personal Thoughts:
- Basically, I made this costume because Momoi Haruko was at Anime Boston 2012, and I wanted to cosplay from a show she'd been in. I love Koyori's design, so it was an easy choice.

- Styling Notes
- See my wig comments, but basically, the wefts are attached funny and made it difficult to cut and style. I'd also really like to darken the wig a little more before I wear it again (if I don't replace it altogether). Two rounds of ink dying darkened it some, but not as much as I'd have liked.
- Wig Review
- I have to say, I'm really disappointed with the wig. It's from Epic Cosplay, and is wefted very oddly; I think it may be the wig equivalent of a "lemon." The wefts are all off-center and hang funny when the wig is lined up evenly. I didn't realize this until after I'd already dyed the wig; otherwise, I would have returned it. This is the first time I've ever been disappointed with one of their wigs, though, so by no means have I written them off as a company.
