Construction Details:

Constructing this costume spanned across states. My family decided to take vacation when I was in the middle of working on this dress, and I really didn't want to stop work on it just because I was traveling from Colorado to California for a couple weeks. So I brought everything with me. The dress pattern was modified from a pattern that had straps and a back. The biggest challenge however with this costume wasn't even the roses, it was the TIGHTS! The verticle striped tights were next to impossible to find. I ended up settling with a pair of tights that I found at Pier 39 in San Fransisco. Despite the picture on the packaging, the tights ended up going up A LOT higher than they were supposed to, so I had to roll them down on my thigh. There are about 75 white roses on here, all of which were completely taken apart, and then reassembled so they wouldn't fall apart, and each attached by hand.
