Made with Bridal satin, shantung, taffeta, skittles containers (Yes, you read right), and tulle. I will expand on this later... It's 8:15 and I haven't slept...again OTL Wings and Props made by Koholint

Personal Thoughts:

These costumes were debuted during A-Kon 22 in Dallas this past weekend. I am extremely proud of how the outfits turned out. I literally didn’t know how everything was going to look together since we took a rather different approach this time. It was definitely a joint effort between *Koholint and I: I went ahead and decided to sew both of the costumes because we wanted them to match perfectly – to look they belonged together and were two of a kind. On the other hand, *Koholint used her amazing talent with props and constructed the wings and made my Stripes and Blacklace (aka the sword and the handgun respectively). We don’t have our weapons in this picture but they glow in the dark. Overall, I loved the final result. Everything came together rather nicely despite the fact that they were rather painful to wear. The wings gave me bruises around my arms/armpits, the stiletto heels were not very pleasant to walk on, and between the contacts and the fake-eyelashes my vision was very limited. I know it doesn’t sound like much compared to other cosplayers but this is the hardest I have had it wearing a cosplay so far :_D. However, at the end of the day, everything was well worth the sacrifice. We received “Best Craftsmanship” award during the A-Kon Hall Cosplay (Friday). I will write a more detailed entry about the construction of the cosplays later. Special thanks to *candypyon who gave me priceless advise on construction of some pieces . She was one of the few people who heard my unending rants/helped me release frustration while sewing the outfits. Your patience is endless. Shout outs for *XNeverConformX, *Koholint, *That-Way, ~tani-chan and ~Harukani-Mizukusai for helping me detangle my ridiculously long wig! I don’t know what I would do without you guys and your perseverance. Thank you! Finally, thank you very much to *johnsonsan for taking pictures of us. She is an incredibly talented photographer!
