About this Costume
Construction Details:
Pattern base for the pants: NewLook 6321
/Jacket and Pants: Yellow stretch poplin
/Design on pants: Iron-on reflective tape. :D
/Belt/rope-thing: Cotton piping, 20g. wire, hot glue, red cotton fabric
/Armor: Wonderflex, Plasti-Dip, spray paint, acrylic paint, gloss top coat
/Embroidery: all by hand - approx 36 hours worth of work.
/Chainmail: European 4-in-one style. All by me.

/Contact lenses: Venus Amber

The pants are sort of gradient-dyed, but it's hard to see. The design on them is made with reflective tape, so it glows in pictures. ^_^

The jacket is all hand-embroidered. I stenciled the designs on using patterns I made from print-outs and freezer paper, then stitched them. It's about 45 hours of stitching and my first time attempting something nearly so large-scale!

The chest and hip armor are all Wonderflex, with a coat of Plasti-Dip before it was painted. Again, the kamon are stenciled on, then touched up for clarity.

The gauntlets were originally Wonderflex, but I re-did them in foam, and I was much happier with the way they turned out. I put more details into them the second time around, and made his drill bracers for fun. XD Those are yarn on posterboard for the drillbit, and foam and foam balls for the wrist part.
Personal Thoughts:
BONDS

I busted my chops on this outfit. Improved a bit for Otakon 2011. I'll probably work on it a bit more to wear again in celebration of the new game.

Styling Notes
I got this wig super last-minute after finding out my other was too dark. I used some clippings from deep inside its fluff and some felt to create an altered hairline, and solidified the design with some (lots of) hair spray.
Wig Review
I should have fluffed it up before wearing it a second time after a year in storage. D:
