Most of this was modification of preexisting items. The skirt and shoes I had for years, planning on eventually making this costume someday. I just had to take about 5 or 6 inches off the length of the skirt to make it SHORT enough for what Mel really wears. The blouse was a purchase from a thrift store. The tie I made after looking at how they put together the ties that I have to wear for work, and added a pin to the back of it so I can pin it to the shirt, rather than have to tie a real tie every time I wear the costume. The poncho itself took me a couple weeks to make, having to make a prototype to follow and alter before using the actual material. The hardest part of it was actually figuring out how to attach the liner when I had the three splits in the poncho [two front, one back]. The medallions on the front are pieces of wood cut out into circles, with magnets inside and outside to hold it to the poncho, and easily removable for washing, and model magic to give it the raised edge. The anklet is made of a ring of heavy duty wire, then wrapped with model magic and painted. Wig still needs extentions added to it to be longer in the front.
