Construction Details:

The bane of my ever-loving existence. This costume's had more setbacks than I want to think about, and more than once drove me to the point of seriously contemplating setting it on fire just to get it out of my sight. I started collecting supplies just after AX '08, started construction that fall, and just got it wearable enough again for Fanime 2010.

This monstrosity consumed about thirty yards of fabric (there are two underskirts in addition to the habit, which is fully lined -- double-lined in the skirt), twenty-seven yards of handmade bias tape, and so far seven and a half yards of lace (with three rows to go). It's eaten more hours of time than I want to consider, and probably put me significant steps closer to an ulcer. The wig constantly tries to run off my head, moreso with the wimple in place. I seriously hate it on so many levels. (And yet I really do love its epic floofiness, and the awesomeness of the TB cosplayers. Still gonna burn it someday when I retire it, though!)
