About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Jacket and pants are made from white stretch sateen. Both were made using commercial patterns, but heavily modified. The jacket and pants both had flat pattern modifications done to accommodate various fitting issues (mainly large biceps and large quads).
Sweater was lengthened for modesty and is made of a sweatshirt knit. The bottom edge was quilted to make the ribbed appearance. Sewn almost entirely by serger, except for hems.
I actually made the underwear for this costume, too. I based it off of a pair of trunks I took apart. All seams are serged, except for hems.
Shoes are covered in metallic spandex. Cover was patterned using saran wrap and packing tape. Covers have seams to match the seams in the shoes. They are glued on using E6000.
Headband was made from the same metallic spandex, interfaced, and sewn together.
All pen nibs are made from worbla and foam and sanded/painted/finished. Most (except the earrings) are affixed using E6000. The gems on the side of the pants are resin cast with worbla fittings (glued on, again, with E6000). - Personal Thoughts:
- Made in two weeks. Not too hard, made for a skit.
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- This is actually two wigs. The base is a Marty with a crown from a Jaguar in Midnight Blue. They were sewn together, a huge amount of fiber thinned out from the crown, and styled heavily to one side.
