Styrofoam...
I recently came into possession of a good deal of styrofoam, in a variety of thicknesses. I've heard of people using insulation foam for props, however I was wondering if, styrofoam were to prove any use for props?

Actually sturefoam isn't that bad I find it annoying to work with but I used it as a base for my buster sword and then we made my friend a full sized ... maybe 60" long scythe for Marluxia. We papermached over the top to give it strength and we had to glue on some paint sticks as supports bc its so long.
It held up ok so I wouldn't suggest using it for a scythe but if you put some time into it to make it nice It could work nicely for a sword. Also It will sand smooth but I would just suggest either papermache or fiber glassing it
