Wow.. makes me feel old (And I'm only 21 O.o; )
My first was an Atari 2600, followed by an Atari 5200.
I think my favorite system to date was the SNES, mainly for Chrono Trigger (That game was awesome O.o) Anyone here played it before? ^^

If you haven't played Chrono Trigger you don't know what you're missing out on.. O.o
It still remains to be my favorite RPG of all time (And I've played a l-o-t of RPGs )

I used to own a game shop (It was a small one, I ran it out of a double booth of an indoor flea market, but it still made enough to support me and best of all, I got to sit around and play games all day, choose all my own hours, choose to have breaks whenever I wanted, it was great ^^) so I have a l-o-t of games.
Systems I have = Atari 2600, Atari 5200, NES, Game Gear, Game Boy, SNES, Playstation, Phillips-Magnavox CD-i, N64, Sega Genesis, Sega CD, Playstation 2, X Box, and Nintendo DS. I plan on getting the XBox 360 this fall, and the PS3 as soon as it comes out. (Soul Calibur 3! Oh yeah! ^^)

My brother and I have collected a lot of systems ever since we were kids, and I got a lot more when I bought that game shop ^^ (Like I said, it was just a double booth in an indoor flea market, but still, it came with a LOAD of stuff, and let me make money by sitting back and playing games ^^)

The deal with Final Fantasy Games are... everyone loves 7. Including me, but it's not my faveorite. If you look long and hard at the game, you can easily tell it was mashed together right before it's release. Don't even go saying this is opinion, I read an interview with Tetsuya Nomura where he said some interesting things like...
Aeris wasn't supposed to die.
If you've used gameshark to bring her back, she has two extra lines of dialogue in the game. One, in the end, when all of your party members say "I'm with you!" Aeris chimes in aswell. I forgot the other line, but it is present. Also, in the end of the game, I can't remember if it was before Jenova or not.. but it's the scene when everyone is standing on floating rocks, and Sephiroth is attacking everyone. If you look, you'll notice that there's a rock that no one stands on, and when you use the gameshark.. well, she stands there.
My theory is, that when Tetsuya Nomura created Tifa, the much fan-beloved character, He didn't have a place for her in the original game. So he figured, "Why not kill of savior girl." And I must admit, Aeris's death
did add alot to the story and gameplay.
My faveorite Final Fantasy game is Final Fantasy VIII
It was flawlessly put together, with great bosses, great characters, and a very unique hero. Most fans, as I have seen on the www.1up.com forums,
everyone says 'Squall has the personality of a rock! CLOUD IS BETTER'
or 'He's too dark!' this is simply not the truth, squall was an extremely well made character. If you've played the game, Squall was reluctant.. everyone kept calling upon him to lead the group, and he would think to himself 'Why me? I didn't choose to be leader..' But Squall also had an emotional side, as you can see when he first sees Rinoa at the dance.
Maybe i'm just saying this because I relate to Squall in a personality sense, as he and I share a few of the same traits. Such as, quiet, good leadership qualities (He did become the commander of seed..) Calm personality, Doesen't talk trash, but still has skills to show.
In reality, when you actually sit down and analyze the two most popular Final Fantasy games ever, FFVIII comes out on top over FFVII
FFVIII has better music
FFVIII has a better story
FFVIII has better character development.
But please, don't consider this a crack to Final Fantasy VII,
I am a HUGE fan of that game, i'm just naming the facts here on this forum. What are everyone else's thoughts?

Well, a friend of mine says that if you get an early (As in first release) of FFVII in Japan, that you CAN save Aeris. But apparently that's the only one on which you can do so. I'm not sure, of course, if this is true, or just the absent wishing of a worldwide fan-base of the game who are dissatisfied with what happened to Aeris.

If I remember correctly, the Squaresoft said that's there's no way to revive aeris after she dies unless you use an exterior method. Your friend probably read that on the internet somewhere.Fialchar wrote:Well, a friend of mine says that if you get an early (As in first release) of FFVII in Japan, that you CAN save Aeris. But as I said before, the story of FFVII is so much more compelling because Aeris dies.

I dunno, it seems beleiveable.. but alot of people spread rumors on the internet that seem very beleiveable.

Well... not exactly in opinion. I like FF7 anf FF8 equally... FF7 was simply rushed at the end, so it didn't come out as good as it could have.
And as for untouchable.. I dunno about that. It's a great game, yet the story is somewhat generic. Ya know, with that meteor and all.
