When I was asked to do Howl's Moving Castle cosplay with my friend's who were already planning Howl and Sophie, I origionally wanted to do Michael/Markle. However, after a little thought I decided to do Lettie instead because my body type was better suited for her. Not to mention, I adore Lettie in

It took 2 months to find the proper fabric color. Everywhere I went was either out of the color I wanted or didn't have enough. In the end, the perfect fabric was found 3 hours from home while we checked out a fabric store on a whim at a one day con.
This is by far the hardest costume I've done and due to the lack of fabric for the first two months, I was only left with 2 months to do the whole thing. A separate pattern was used for the sleeves and batting was added inside the poofy part to give the proper size to them. The apron and white collar were made two weeks before Acen.
The wig was made using a long blond wig, chopping the hair off at the nape. The chopped off hair was then used as wefts. Some wefts were wrapped around a piece of insulation foam and then caulked to the top of the wig. The rest of the wefts were sewn into the bottom of the wig and styled upwards and further wrapped around the roll on top. The bangs were a combination of my Howl's styling the night before we left and my fixing right before it was worn (though it still needs a little fixing before it's worn again).
The headpiece was made with a cut out piece of foamy that was painted with craft paint. The ear rings were origionally large blue beads that were made into earrings by SakubunoEclipse (my Howl) and painted the proper color. The jewelery piece on the collar was made with a silver jewelery piece in the proper shape, painted gold and sculpey added to create the jewel which was afterwords painted.
