Volunteer | I was originally going to make this costume because my friend Brittany is doing Last! Sasuke for NYCC, but then I heard about this and just had to apply! Now I'm even more motivated to make this cosplay as perfect as it can be, and hope to be chosen! Hopefully along with my friends who are also applying. Naruto is very dear to me, I grew up loving this series, watching it on TV as well as going out to buy the DVDs and merchandise as soon as they came out. I never got a chance to really cosplay from it until recently because I didn't feel like I would do justice to any of the characters, especially with how the series was treated as a joke among the internet for so long. It really hurt to have to hide my love for this series because I knew someone would make fun of me for it. Now that the series ended though, everyone has come out to say they actually love it, so maybe now I can finally show my love for this series. Especially since this is at NYCC, one of the biggest western comic centered conventions. Showing the Naruto series off as a beloved and poular franchise in the midst of Marvel and DC will help so many people get interested in the series and show that there's nothing to be ashamed of loving. To be chosen to represent it would be absolutely dream fulfilling! Thank you very much, I hope to have my/our dreams come true by being accepted! |

Volunteer | I love making people smile. When I can bring their favorite characters to life and fill others with joy, it's an amazing opportunity! Most of all I cosplay to create relationships with incredible people I wouldn't have met otherwise. I would love an opportunity to work with everyone in New York! |

Volunteer | With over 12 years of experience in cosplaying, and 10 years of cosplaying Naruto, this is something I feel I am pretty good at! This series has been a catalyst for me in many aspects, from going to convention, making life-long friends, running panels and events, and learning how to make/edit videos. Naruto has been a constant in my life for over 10 years because of the positives that has come with it. Being able to cosplay as "Konoha's #1 Hyperactive Ninja" all grown up and finally Hokage-material, is a 10 year old dream of mine. |

Volunteer | As a fan of the Naruto series since it first became popular I've always wanted to cosplay from it. I never had the time to ever make any of the outfits and really regretted it. But when the manga finished I was sad that I never even attempted a costume and then thats when Naruto Gaiden was announced with its characters. I instantly fell in love with Sarada Uchiha since she was the child of my first two favorite characters in the series Sasuke and Sakura. So I knew that it was my chance to make a costume and I knew I had to cosplay her instantly! My cosplay line up for NYCC is nothing but NarutoNarutoNaruto! As well as making my Sarada cosplay I also made Hinata from The Last Movie as well. I usually get my inspiration to cosplay characters while watching an anime, finishing it, and having the chance to fully fall in love with the character. But while watching The Last Movie about 10 minutes into it I exclaimed "I want to be Hinata!" and throughout the movie after each scene the urge grew and grew until minutes after I watched the movie I was already searching up wigs and accessories online to buy for the costume. A friend told me about this cast and call and I decided that I wanted to enter, to show my love for the series that I felt that grew up alongside, with a character from its next generation. |

Volunteer | I've really wanted to go to this con for years and after hearing about all the cool events going on for my favorite series I'm doing everything I can to come!! Naruto has been very important to me for most of my life, and its something my youngest brother and I share together with the comics, anime and cosplay. This show has helped me overcome obstacles in my life I never thought I could do and has brought me so much happiness. |

Volunteer | Naruto is something very close to my heart. I am a second degree black belt in Taekwondo. The reason I love Naruto so much is due to my ability to relate to their struggles in the ninja world due to my martial arts training. The hardships while training in martial arts is very similar to what characters in Naruto as they have to train through physical limitations. The discipline it takes to get back up after taking a beating, ripping a muscle, or a bone popping out of place becomes one of the most significant reasons why Naruto has always motivated me to be strong. I always looked for motivation in Naruto to get stronger and to get back up when I was taking a beating from someone three ranks higher. The amount of emotion I have poured into these manga due to my ability to relate to characters, such as Rock Lee, who trains so hard but feel so limited in their abilities. Doing kicks until your legs feel numb and covered in bruises all for the purpose of becoming stronger, this stands as what Naruto has motivated me to do. Cosplay is another passion of mine. I have loved cosplaying since I was in middle school. I made my Sarada Uchiha cosplay just for this event. My costumes are very well made and I have worked as a seamstress for a large theme park company before. |

Volunteer | It's weird to say; I still remember getting the english Shonen Jump with the first chapter of Naruto. I think in Japanese, the Akatsuki had already been introduced, but there was something so surreal about having that physical thing in my hands. It was validation, in a way? Maybe 'acceptance' if I'm being dramatic. Even when I was a bit older and the anime started playing on Cartoon Network, I still drew awful art for every single contest they ran. It was one of those things that was just a constant as I grew up. There's Harry Potter, there's Star Wars, and then within the modern convention crowd we all had Naruto. It'd be cool to be a part of what seems like "saying thank you" to the creator for all of that, I think. Specifically for this event, the NYCC crowd is way different from an anime-centric con crowd, so it'll be fun to show people who might not even know about the series (or only know it as 'the ninja show on cn') what a crazy ride this has been. Without knowing the specifics of what the event entails, I can confidently say that I enjoy engaging con floor attendees one-on-one and I can spot improv in-character (or out) easily by myself and in a group. I'm comfortable on stage and in a crowd; I've also handled crowd control for teens and rowdy kids so I'm not shy about that. I've attended NYCC several times so I'm aware of the specific con difficulties (no signal??? sea of human bodies??? why is there only that one McDonald's?) and general con atmosphere. Disclaimer: I am unfortunately not actually a ninja, but I can pretend pretty hard. |

Volunteer | Naruto was one of the first animes I really began to keep up with, many many years ago. I had the privledge of being able to see Kizuna in theaters in Japan, and my first cosplay ever was of Sasuke (pre-shippuden). I'd love to participate in this event! I've worked in cosplay at events before (including SAO), so I know how to keep professional around guests, even if it's really cool! |

Volunteer | I would love to be chosen as an official cosplayer for this event because of my love for the series and because of my past experiences with high profile guests. I have been a fan of Naruto for over 10 years, and it was the catalyst that inspired me to cosplay. Naruto cosplay provided me an avenue to meet so many wonderful friends and have amazing experiences. Love for Naruto allowed my sister and I to bound over creating art and cosplay together. I would be so honored to cosplay at an event hosting the creator of Naruto. Additionally, I have experience working for the USC cinema school where I acted professionally and stayed focus on my duties in front of such guests as Steven Spielberg. I also have experience answering many questions as a representative of my school and several animation studios at recruiting events so I could easily provide information to fellow guests. Thank you so much for this opportunity to display my love for a series that provided me so much entertainment, inspired my art in so many different ways, and provided lasting memories with friends and family. |

Volunteer | When Sakura was first introduced, she is just a young girl. She is naive, full of dreams, and idealistic. As the story of Naruto progressed, we start to see her lose her naiveness as she learned the harshness of reality. Yet, she does not let all the negative experiences she had gone through change who she is. At the end of the story, we see Sakura, wiser, stronger, but just as she has grown, she still maintains who she was. This is something I really admire in the character of Sakura Haruno. It's always easy to give up and give in when faced with powerlessness. I wish to be picked for this event because I have always looked to this trait of Sakura's as a inspiration. And it is because of such relate-able characters that I keep going back to Naruto. |

Volunteer | Believe it! I have cosplayed a lot of Naruto, but his adult/Hokage version has a special place in my heart. I love that he is a father and not only that he is a father of the village. I grew up with him, and at one point we shared the same struggles. |

Volunteer | 1. Sadly I do not have any of the photos of my first cosplay... |||orz it was done before digital times 2. height: 5'3" 3. Naruto was one of the bigger impact of my childhood since this was one of the show my family and I share memories with. We would cry and laugh along with the characters and would talk about it among ourselves wondering what will happen next in the story. Being able to be help spread the love for this series will be an honor. 4. Yup :D 5. No conflicts 6. Will you be over the age of 18 by the event? I hope so LOL |

Volunteer | Naruto is one of the biggest parts of my childhood and Kishimoto is one of my heroes. I've made a lot of friends through Naruto as well, so it has a very deep meaning to me. It would be an honor to represent his character for this event. Thank you very much for reading! -Blair Mills |

Volunteer | I am 5'4" tall. Naruto was my first fandom, what really got me into anime (years before I started cosplaying) and I'd be so excited to share how important it was and still is to me with other fans. This is something I've wanted to do for a really long time and it would be absolutely incredible to get the opportunity. I'm pretty good at "keeping my fan in check" since I don't tend to get very excited over celebs, only a bit nervous. I am 21 years old so age is not an issue. |

Volunteer | It would mean the world to me to have this chance to volunteer, I would remember it for the rest of my life. I've grown up with Naruto and made so many connections through it and I get really emotional every time I think about it. I've called all my friends and family to talk about this opportunity because it makes me feel so happy that I could even have a chance for this to happen and they're very supportive. It would be the biggest cosplay experience to happen in my life so far, and I would be extremely grateful!! Thank you so much for reading!!! -Deanna Tylee |

Volunteer | Naruto has been a part of my life for so long it just seems natural. In high school, I bought matching Naruto & Sasuke UNIQLO shirts for a friend and we'd wear them together, although the shirt ended up lasting longer than our friendship! This year when I went to see "The Last" movie—wearing my Naruto shirt of course—it was almost like a high school otaku reunion where we all reminisced. As soon as Hinata's wedding dress was revealed during the movie, I thought to myself that it'd be a beautiful ensemble to make. And as soon as Kishimoto was announced for NYCC, I realized that this would be the year to go. That's why I'd be honored to be chosen for this event, to be able to honor a series that many and me personally hold dear to their heart. As a fan & cosplayer who has spent the past few years as con staff/exhibitor, I believe that I can behave professionally as well. Thank you for your consideration. |

Volunteer | The fact that Sasuke and Sakura ended up together and had such a strong amazing character as a daughter means SO much to me. It would be everything to be to be able to represent her at NYCC. Naruto as a series was for many, my first dive into anime as well as my first intro to cosplay. I've never been able to fully cosplay a character from Naruto until now and I'm glad that it's a character that I adore as much as Sarada. As I mentioned earlier in my application, one my absolute favourite scenes is her awakening her sharingan out of love for her father and to me that speaks levels on what Sarada represents: she's equal parts her father and her mother and |

Volunteer | I simply love conventions and helping out! I can't tell you how much joy it brings me to simply see fans having a great time and being themselves. The best thing after an event is seeing people leave sad that it's over, knowing that they had a great time and made memories. Naruto holds a special place in my heart, I would look long at the manga and admire all the detail that went into the artwork. The American releases were not out during this time, so I used to go to the bookstore by Mitsuwa market and buy them in Japanese then look up translations. Now as a working illustrator I always think to all the detail Kishimoto puts into the work.... and go: "Hey work a bit harder on the details!" I would be very happy to help out, meet fans, and fave fun! |

Volunteer | I was already planning on cosplaying The Last version of Sasuke for NYCC, and now I am even more excited about it! Being selected for this event would mean more than the world to me. The Naruto series has been such a big part of my life, and getting the chance to be part of something like this would be beyond amazing, and would be one of the best moments in my life. Sasuke's character is especially important to me, being that he is not only my favorite character in the series, but probably my favorite anime character of all time. I was always able to identify with him, and his story in particular was the most interesting journey for me to watch unfold. Getting the chance to represent a series that is so dear to my heart is something that I couldn't even put into words. This is a once in a lifetime opportunity and I am so thankful to be given a chance to apply. I hope to be chosen so I can have the chance to share my love of Naruto with other fans at the convention! It would be a dream come true! |

Volunteer | I have never been to NYCC and it has always been a dream of mine to participate! Naruto has always been my all-time favorite series since I was in grade school. I always related to Sakura and wanted to cosplay her since I was little, and now that I am older I get to live out my passion! Sakura is my favorite character, and Naruto means so much to me. It is how I bonded and got with my boyfriend (soushike) who cosplays Sasuke, and NYCC happens to fall on our anniversary too, so attending and being a part of this event would be a life-changing weekend for us (Plus if we are both selected as volunteers, we could save the company money by sharing a room!). My mother suddenly passed away during the end of September of last year, so we could not go to this con, and he has helped me cope so we really wanted to attend this year to make up for it. The event actually falls exactly on our anniversary, so it would be the best feeling to get to volunteer and help out with people who love the series as much as I do! I am 20 years old, so I am of age as well. |

Volunteer | I can't even put into words how much I love Naruto, but having actually grown up with the characters they all mean so much to me! And no worries, internalizing my crazy fan emotions is my ninja way, believe it. |

Volunteer | I have never visited New York and have always wanted to, especially NYCC. Sasuke has always been my favorite character, so to be able to cosplay him for an event like this would be a dream come true. Naruto is what got me into anime and cosplay, and what led me to my girlfriend (miss_steak, who applied as Sakura). Our anniversary is during NYCC during this event, so being a part of something like this dedicated to our favorite series would mean the world. Plus, as she probably already mentioned in her application, we could share a room if need be, which would save money for the con as well! I am also 21 years of age, so I am legal. |

Volunteer | I would love to be a cosplay volunteer for this event. Naruto was the first anime series I found when I came to America and its been a very big part of my childhood. The series is very empowering for the little guy and encourages everyone to strive and be the best they can be, something that I really put forth in my cosplays. Its been 6 years now and I've come a long way, growing my craft and putting my heart into it, so I would love to meet the creator of the series that helped boost my passion and encouraged me to keep getting better each day and to also share this with aspiring cosplayers and artists. |
