Construction Details:

Like my Downton Abbey costumes, I strove for screen accuracy rather than historical (I mean this outfit itself closer in style to what was more popular 20 years later anyway but maybe Eliza was a trend setter lol). I ordered the fabric online from Fabric Wholesale Direct. The blouse is runched and French seamed. The jacket is fully lined, with darts and princess seams based off the on-screen costume, although I didn't fit it as closely (because I am lazy and uncorseted in this). It has two-piece sleeves. The bias tape is closed up by hand. I did blind hems on blouse and skirt, and a combination of knife and box pleats on the back of the skirt and the jacket. The jacket has shoulder pads to try to give it a more Victorian puff. I installed zippers because, again, I went for screen accuracy over historical.
nHair is my own, although for most of the photos posted I tried to do the S3 style vs the S4 (which wasn't out yet at the time, which works better for my hair whoops).
