Construction Details:

The shade of purple I got for my base fabric wasn't what I wanted, so almost all the purple parts in this costume was dyed by me! It was my first project that involved dyeing fabric. I did the gradient dye using magenta as well, and then hand painted the purple lotus onto the skirt's front panel. The belt was made with craft foam covered with spandex.

Personal Thoughts:

My friend does a wonderful Jiang YanLi, and I wanted to cosplay together with her, so I chose to do the mom! Madam Yu's character is out of my comfort zone, but it was fun nonetheless and I hope to keep improving.
