nThis costume.
n3 year journey that literally never ends because she ALWAYS needs some tweaking somehow!! >< The dress itself was probably re-draped 3-4 times entirely as well....oyyyy

nDress was made with some EXTREME MEGA HELP from TheRestlessCosplay, since once I attached the sleeves/collar to the bodice portion of the dress...I could no longer fit it on my dress form in order to drape the bottom!! nearly the ENTIRE gown had to be draped ON MY BODY, which is the only reason we were able to get all the pleating to fit and work!

nI draped the front and back bodice portions on my dress form following ref pics. The sleeve pattern was drafted using an EZ Cosplay Lunafreya dress as reference and then modified to make the collar more accurate to the game renders. Sewing the sleeves/collar took about 3 days on their own since there's a lot of crazy inside seaming in order to get the proper details! It got confusing with all the curves XP

nThe dress was draped in 6-7 different parts that were then blended together and attached using the lining layer as a base structure. This was the only way we were able to get all the pleated lines to fit and look as close to the game as possible! A heavy duty bridal invisible zipper was the ONLY zip that has withstood more than 3 try-ons/wears!!! She's a beast!! The pleats all hold their shape with interior basting stitches or stitch witchery. We used a combo of elastic (by the back of the knee to gather the dress for a mermaid fit but provide stretch for movement and sitting!) and large, sturdy horsehair braid that is tacked around the bottom hem. Makes it easy to walk as well!!

Styling Notes

Arda Grace + Pack of short wefts + clip in ponytail. Stubbed, de-clipped the pony and added foam core base covered in extra wefts to middle/top portion of the ponytail for extra poof and shape. Then attached it to the stub. Wefts added in for wispies around the nape of the neck as well. Used a Grace with a custom parting in order to have realistic skin part around the braids.
