Construction Details:

Open chest thing was a hard no for me so I took some inspiration from the stage play version (aaaaand honesty using a zipper is 10x easier to make). I used Yaya Han's Body Suit pattern which worked really well for me. The fabric I bought is a 4-way stretch performance fabric. It's bright red which bothered me to the point I decided to dye it darker using leftover Navy Blue RIT dye. Front harness thing attaches with Velcro.







Took some creative liberties with the belt as well and made it longer. There is some batting in the front so it looks thicker. It has TWO front pockets for me to put my phone and other necessities in. Still wear dancer tights underneath though since it's pretty short.







I didn't want to have any glaringly obvious adhesives for the shelf/yaoyorictionary because I anticipated having to detach it often (like, anytime I want to sit?). So drawing inspiration from the source material itself~the entire thing attaches via magnets! It's * relatively* sturdy~won't fall off when I walk around, but is not built for cons like AX where you are guaranteed to bump into ppl 24/7 ^^;







The Yaoyorictionary itself is a fake book in which I can store other stuff. It attaches to the shelf via magnets. I embedded a magnet in the Yaoyoroshka as well to keep it on the shelf. It's a bit heavier though so I try not to leave it on when I'm walking around too much.







The shoes! Were clearance at Ross and initially pink. I used burgundy floral spray paint to change the color and I LOVE how it turned out.







Still need to add some of the decorative trim on the suit but this cos is otherwise done?? I need major help with perfecting Momo's hairstyle still but that's about it.

Personal Thoughts:

I love that I don't really have to carry a bag when I wear this cos~!
