Construction Details:

The whole outfit is made from the same moleskin spandex purchased from Discount Fabrics and flatlined with a satin in a similar shade. Boot covers and gloves were both made from scratch. The skirt's scallops are fully interfaced. The bodice is a fully boned corset with bra cups sewn into the inside and held up with a clear halter strap, and it laces up the back. All patterns were drafted mostly from scratch, but I used a Simplicity pattern as a base for the corset.

nThe cape is a "circle skirt" and made from black sateen with gold satin trim. The choker is just some premade trim I sewed snaps to, and it closes with a snap. The button/brooch is covered in the same fabric as the cape trim. Black Bulls patch by Quid Vis.

nThe earrings were clip-ons made using beads and parts from Michael's, and the choker is a premade trim with snaps sewn on. The witch hat has a buckram base and I used a children's Halloween costume pattern to make it. The hatpin is made from EVA foam and worbla and painted with rub n buff.

nThe satchel is white pleather with foam decorations that I painted with Angelus leather paint. The grimoire is a leatherbound journal I found online, and I intricately traced the pattern on craft foam and cut it all out with an Xacto blade and mod podged to the cover. I primed with white spray paint and then painted the whole thing once assembled by hand.

Personal Thoughts:

This was so deceptively difficult to make but this costume came to me at a time that I needed to remember how good craftsmanship felt to me and I really enjoyed the creation process!! I love Black Clover and Vanessa is so good, I'm glad I got to capture her for a little while.
