About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
The parts of the costume I completely made from scratch were the ears, tail, hand paws, and feet paws. They all had iterations of a pattern (the ears and tail had one version, the feet paws had two, and the hand paws had five.) I used the same faux fur on all of these pieces. Along with that, the tail was stuffed with stuffing. The feet paws also hold upholstery foam inside to keep their shape with a shoe set in for the feet. Everything was sewn together with the exception of the feet paws, which were hot glued then sewn together. The claws are baked out of translucent sculpy and attached using glue. The shirt was modified. It was originally bought as a green sweatshirt on Amazon. From there, I taped off an area for the stripes and painted it on with yellow fabric paint. The face prosthetic was also modified. This was originally bought from NorthFurFX. I added in some holes as they would be near the nose to breathe and painted it with acrylic paint so that it would blend in and not so much makeup would have to be used. The face prosthetic was bought from northfurfx. I cut holes in the nostrils so I could breathe and painted it so that make-up could be kept to a minimum. (The paint was decided to be added after watching a video and asking an Alphys cosplayer who went by Egg at the time on youtube.) It is attached on my face by spirit gum and latex. The face powder was bought on Amazon. The wig was bought on ebay and has minor styling to it.
- Personal Thoughts:
- While Asriel is literally my favorite character in Undertale, he is actually the second Undertale cosplay I have done after Frisk. Mainly, Frisk I had most of the resources for and was cheaper. Soon after I wore Frisk, however, I knew I was going to do Asriel and was excited to work on his costume. Unfortunately, it's not the easiest to walk around in, but at least it's moveable on its own.
