Construction Details:

Like (almost) all my period drama costumes, I strive more for screen accuracy rather than historical, so I matched the seams to that in episode stills and caps. I did also refer to a pattern of a round gown for some guidance.
The bodice has knife pleats going inwards from the sides and meeting in the middle. I sewed the smaller trim on the bodice and sleeves by hand. Most seams are French seams. The outer sleeves are puffed, and the inner sheer ones follow the round gown pattern and close with snaps at the wrist. I based the skirt off of the round gown pattern, with tweaks, gathering it mostly in the back. The buttons are fake, I just sewed in snaps instead. I blind hemmed both layers of the skirt. The wider trim is a sheer navy trim with a trim with gold embroidery that I sewed on top.
For headdress I wrapped scraps of bodice fabric around a ring of styrofoam, tacked it down by hand, and then added the trims.
While she does wear the cameo earrings with this outfit, she doesn't the cameo choker, but I went with it, as she does have a cameo choker that matches the earrings, which she wears with other outfits. I got charms and threaded the bigger one on a ribbon for the chocker, and added the smaller charms to existing clip-on earrings I had made.

Personal Thoughts:

For the formal Poldark group, I chose to swap from S3 Caroline to S4, because I wanted to do the Regency look. Caroline and Dwight are my faves, and I loved this dress as soon as I saw the promo stills of it. All that said though, them empire waists are not all that flattering on me lol.

Styling Notes

I had to redo my original updo for this wig (Glinda Classic in Ash Blonde CL-053), as I chose to do an S4 outfit vs. an S3 one for my formal cosplay of Caroline. I took off the hairbun and swapped it with the Pony Tail Wrap Classic.
