About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Screen accurate fabric was used for the tunic, but in ivory...so I had to custom dye it. To get the right color...it took 5 dye baths!! Tunic is lined and hand whipstitched for a home-spun feel. Undershirt is a hemp jersey made out of two layers with an unfinished bottom hem. Wrap top hem features a hand blanket stitch. Obi is also custom dyed with zig-zag stitches closing the edges. Drape / Tabards are a pure wool gauze that was custom dyed (3 times T____T) and finished with a super small rolled hem. Arm wraps are screen accurate bandages that are hand weathered with paint and powdered makeup. Pants were hand made and patterned by me with a gorgeous brushed tencel twill- super soft and comfy! Center seams were lined with double needle stitching and knee patches feature screen accurate top stitching. Leather belt by CastawayTrading. Holster and wrist cuff from Etsy (will list sellers soon!). Boots by PoZu, of course!!
- Personal Thoughts:
- Probably my most expensive costume to date!! <br />nRey is a character who is very close to my heart and has helped me get through some tough times. I really connected to her in this film and absolutely LOVED the design of this costume!! This is my very first Star Wars costume!! *STILL NEED TO DO A PHOTOSHOOT OF THIS COSTUME!! :( *
