Construction Details:

The dress is comprised of a boned bodice made of duck cloth, lining, and cornflower blue Casa satin, with a skirt and shoulders of cornflower blue crepe. The bodice panel is white duchess satin dyed blue with gold spandex appliques.

The overskirt is white duchess satin dyed blue, lined with white Casa satin, and edged with hand cut spandex bias tape. The waist cincher, headband, choker, shoulder harness, gauntlet, bracelet, greaves, and spats are foam covered with white stretch vinyl and gold spandex, with hand colored jewels. I also made white shoe covers and dyed some thigh high stockings blue to match the skirt. And the cape is made from the same cornflower blue crepe fabric that I used for the skirt (and for the cape on my other Umi costume).

I went with the lighter blue color palette as seen in the frilly frame artwork instead of the darker colors in the dragon artwork because I like it more and I feel it suits the costume better (it also matches my wig better, yay!).
