Construction Details:

The main dress was made out of stretch black / multi glitter velvet with a micromesh inset. I added on rhinestones throughout to achieve a 'stars in the galaxy' look that is subtle but adds a little something!

Personal Thoughts:

My undying love for Leiji Matusmoto's works, in particular the saga surrounding Galaxy Express 999, inspired me the most. This particular story deserves a lot more attention, and I had an interesting idea for bringing this character 'to life' with a galaxy-esque velvet dress! I had already cosplayed as Maetel, one of my favorite characters of all time, so why not her mother?
