Construction Details:

The top is a really simple shirt pattern I drafted up and added seam lines afterwards; I thought the sleeves were just gathered at the top so I had a hard time getting them right at first but then I looked again and realized they're just... pleated at the top... please it's so ugly.

The shirt is made out of white polyester and this hideous green holographic spandex? It was a bit see-through so I backed it with some green cotton that I used for the lining as well. I HATE using cotton for anything because it wrinkles like hell and I don't want to pay for higher quality one when I could just buy cheap polyester, but they didn't have any matching green I liked. I used homemade bias tape from the same fabric as the lining to finish the neckline. I originally bought pre-threaded sequins because I thought it'd be easier but I ended up pulling them apart and sewing them on one by one because it was way easier that way. The letters are cut from the same fabric as the green but in yellow, some glittery red spandex and black leather I had leftover from Aion. I feel like the slight unevenness of them just adds to the charm of this whole thing. They held way better than I thought!

The shorts are made from the same fabrics as the top. Since they're tennis shorts they just gather at the top with an elastic. I wish I could have made them with pockets but I was in a bit of a rush! They're fully lined as well!

I made myself some "bandage" fabric by sewing uneven strips of this beautiful white spandex fabric together, then just sewed it into a sleeveless glove that goes up to my wrist. The rest is just a long band of the same fabric that I wrap around my arm; super comfy, easy to put on, never slides down and I can unwrap it easily for pictures!

The wristband is made of the same holographic spandex as the top overlaid on this towel-y fabric...? It shed everywhere and I threw everything I had left of it out as soon as I was done. I thought this would be the easy part but I kept making changes because it was always too bulky! In the end I used the same spandex as the bandage for the lining and it solved my problem.

Personal Thoughts:

Tenimyu always has the most ridiculous outfits and I love it!! I have bigger plans for the future but I wanted to start with something that would be quick and easy to make since I also made a matching Kenya uniform for my friend!

We bought literally $50 worth of material to try and make pompoms using different methods but it just... didn't work... the saddest cheerleaders ever.
