Construction Details:

I created the scarf first. I used a polyester cream fabric with gold woven into it. I created a long tube and then painted the edges with gold leaf. I don't think I'll do that again.

I made a high low skirt and then added a lining and a bias tape. I sewed inbetween the bias to get an additional seam like the reference. I used a few different fabrics to make this: black taffeta, gold spandex (its the gold I wanted for this look), black pleather, and gold/green brocade. I added a size zipper.

To close off the skirt I attached it to the obi waist band and added the appropriate painting touches and the most perfect lace for the reference. (I should have added like starch to the lace to make it stay up better). I closed the obi with snap closures, two to be exact.

I used two mini D rings and put them together with gold wire to create the obi tie. I then used black scrap fabric: twisted and then braided it to create long rope strands.

I created two shirts for the top section of this costume. I created an inner shirt like Yuna's. Basically a Halter Kimono top, which might be the worst thing I've ever created in history. But looks pro when all pieces are worn together LOL. I used the same black taffeta and black pleather for the top along with white cotton.

The second shirt is based off of a vest pattern. I created the lapels using the gold/green brocade and then painting it... with the closest thing I could use which was puffy paint. (SO KILL ME). I then used a magnetic purse snap to close the front. For the last part I used curly fur fabric for the edging on her sleeves. I didn't understand her sleeves too much from the references and in game so I made them a bit more flowy. I might take this out later. IDK.

For both shirts I used waist band ties to make sure they don't shift out of place. This gets hidden from the obi.

I made the collar out of the same black taffeta but I used a silver sharpie to make the designs (when I would usually create it by sewing) I then glued different and corresponding pieces of black lace on top of it. I close it using a magnetic purse snap at the top and bottom of it.

I almost forgot to make that weird waistband tie thing. I used some of that gold spandex again, created a long "tube" and then closed it with a big keychain ring. I then created a tassel from the same fabric.

Lastly I created two long arm sleeves out of black polyester fabric.

I used thigh high boots for the first time I wore this outfit. The second time I used tights with thigh high impressions. I'll still create the real thigh highs when I have more time.

Hair: I straightened mine and used my ever so popular bang clip. <3

Personal Thoughts:

As soon as saw the teaser for her in the trailer I died a little. I didn't know who she was and what was going on. BUT SHE WAS WAIFU. So I had waited until more references came out about Gentiana.

Later you find out she's an NPC. So that hurt but overall I love her in the game and her design. I'm so attracted to it. I was a bit daunted by it but I actually made it in two days.

I also really wanted to try making this without buying anything. Which the only thing I HAD to buy was more paint, snaps, and black fur.
