Doing my research on Egyptain clothing....the outfit's theme is pretty much linen-like cotton and beads. So much beading... :D
n
nDress-I made two separate dresses and then attached them together at the top so it would be easy to take it on and off. The halter style dress, I used the pattern for the base dress combined with another pattern for the neckline. Surprisingly it worked(still not sure how, lol).
n
nSash-Made the base with leftover fabric and bias tape(had to make my own. =_=) There's also beading. Lots of beading. Ended up just going with beads on the front part due to weight and how expensive beads are.
n
nWig-One I already owned.
n
nLotus flowers-Used this tutorial: https://youtu.be/T_coGChLDUM
n
nRest of Headpiece-White pieces made from chiffon that were then sewn together at the ends. The lotus flowers were then glued on. Barrettes are attached to it on either sides of the head to help it stay on.
n
nShawl/Cowl Thingie- I used a shawl pattern that I altered while making it. Somehow it turned out okay. =_= I ended up just making it one piece and "faking" the tying at the shoulders because...I really couldn't understand how it worked. The loops are embroidery floss, made like tassels. Bias tape+tassels on the edges. The seams were all fray checked so it wouldn't fray like crazy.
n
nShoes-Thrifted a pair and then used velcro to attach them onto the shoes.
