Construction Details:

Craftfoam armor, spandex, sateen, cotton blends, and a whole heck of a lot of tassels.

This costume, down to the hakama were all made by me. I drafted my own patterns (which tbh isn't terribly hard for Japanese garments. They're all STRAIGHT LINES. Rulers are very handy, because I can't draw a straight line to save my life.) There was a lot of experimenting with applique and pin-tucking during this whole ordeal, and I also never want to lace armor panels ever again in my life. The things we do for the love of the craft. And sword. Fancy swords.

Personal Thoughts:

I was sucked into sword boy hell 2 years by pure accident really. But boy has it consumed my life. Curse you 1h30 timers.

Anyway, I love Toshizou Hijikata, and by proxy fell in love with this absolute peacock of a sword he kept by his side. BECAUSE BEING BEAUTIFUL MEANS NOTHING IF IT'S NOT PRACITCAL AMIRITE KANE-SAN

Styling Notes

lots of detangling, bang trimming and heat styling that FWOOSH. Also, braids and ribbons for days. Okay, so maybe only two.

Wig Review

THIS WIG HAS WITHSTOOD A LOT OF WIND AND CAME OUT OKAY. Do recommend.
