About this Costume
Construction Details:
I used Firenze Satin for all of the blue parts (skirt, collar, choker, and glove rolls) and Casa Satin in Blue Radiance for the two bows. The boot covers are made of mystique spandex (using the wrong side), and the same white milliskin as the suit for the toppers.
n
nThe suit is matte spandex and lined as well! The brooch is made of resin. I have tutorials on how I made the collar and front bow on my YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/user/MomoKurumi3/videos
n
nPatterns for the collar, front bow, back bow, and leotard are on my Etsy as an instant download! (Not required to be able to follow the tutorials, but it's what I'm using in the videos): https://www.etsy.com/shop/momokurumi
n
nYou can also purchase made to order sailor accessories in my Etsy shop as well, such as brooches or tiaras =)
Personal Thoughts:
My fifth scout that I have done so far! Mercury honestly wasn't my first choice because I initially didn't pay much attention to her character, but as I rewatched the show, I felt a sort of similarity with her. While I may not be as smart as Ami, I am somewhat quiet like her, and I love how even though she seems timid and unassuming at first, she's incredibly strong in her beliefs, optimistic, and isn't easily discouraged. She will always fight for what is right, and I really admire that about her! I'm pretty excited about this cosplay, because blue is such a lovely color on me! And I get to rep one of the lesser cosplayed scouts <3
