Construction Details:

I used Simplicity 4566 for the skirt. I loved the drape and felt it worked well for Serenity. I combined it with a basic strapless top pattern. I picked crepe back satin for the fabric. I love how it flows, but boy is it heavy.





The wings were Halloween fairy wings that I ripped apart down to the frame. I glued iridescent shear fabric to both sides and trimmed off the excess. The same fabric was used to make the bow tails that snap to my dress.





The crown started off as a silver tiara from ebay. I dug out the larger gems with a knife (stabbing myself in the process). I painted it gold and added the red and aurora gems. Lastly I shaped wire to follow the shape of the anime tiara. It's one of my favorite things about this costume.





The gold circles were cut from a gold applique I bought online.

Personal Thoughts:

My original Dream Cosplay. I was so happy when I felt my sewing skills were ready to tackle this costume. Sailor Moon R is my favorite Sailor Moon series and I remember how in awe I was when I first saw Neo Queen Serenity.
