Construction Details:

I used a 1730s coat pattern from Norah Waugh's "The Cut of Men's Clothes" for the coat, and it was made using historical methods outlined therein.

The coat and hat are dark red velvet with gold metallic Venice Lace trim and gold metallic braid for the button loops. There are also 48 buttons sewn on that I colored to gold using gold Rub 'n Buff wax.

The shirt is white cotton. The pants are black twill. The waist cincher has a jean basis and an outer layer of navy jet set with an overlayer of blue sheer.
