About this Costume

I used a HEAVILY MODIFIED version of Yaya's bodysuit pattern for the base suit. All the gold bias tape was made myself and had to be hand stitched in first before I could sew it. Same with the zippers.
The underskirt is a poly bridal satin that was cut into a half circle. The front edges are finished with a blind hem stitch and the weathering was done by first cutting the tear pattern in, then melting the edge using a barbecue lighter. It scorched in some places, but that was okay as I was using paint to add burn marks anyway. The ruffle poking out of the top of the belt was sewn to the skirt and the whole shebang was hand sewn to the back of the belt.
SPEAKING OF THE BELT, it's gold vinyl that was backed with interfaced cotton. The smaller white belt on top is glued on using E6000. The whole thing closes at the front using velcro and hooks and stays up by force of sheer will (but I plan to add hooks to the bodysuit for it to attach to).
All the small belts were made by using HeatnBond to laminate vinyl together. I added eyelets and bucklets so they're all functional. The collar was draped on my dress form and is made from vinyl and lined with cotton. The front opening was then hand sewn to the bodysuit.
The overskirt and veil are poly organza that were cut to the right size and shape first. I then hand stitched the chantilly lace border around the entire edge. The lace itself was bought from a seller on eBay. I cut most of the net backing and some of the design pieces I didn't need from the lace and used the extra pieces I had to add some detail to the part of the veil that framed my face. The veil is sewn to the wig, as are the flowers and leaves.
The cuffs are vinyl and have hooks under the belts to hold them closed. I bought the chains at Fabricland and they simply loop over my wrists, except for the neck one which has a clasp at the back to get it on and off. The locks are made from EVA foam and worbla. The boots were purchased from eBay and I painted the heel and soles with acrylic paint.
I... I think that's it. - Personal Thoughts:
- It is done.
