About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I grabbed a pattern for a bias dress online and just kind of freestyled all over it. I added panels in the side seam for fullness because, in my mind, it's not a good Chane dress if I can't theoretically have a knife fight while wearing it. I made the gloves out of spandex using a paper and stencil method because I'm a cheater.
- Personal Thoughts:
- It's really satisfying to remake a whole costume. I cosplayed Chane for the first time when I was in 11th grade and had braces. I forgot whole details on her dress, didn't iron the seams very well, and didn't think to pencil in my eyebrows at all. Oh, how far we've come! This costume started my years-long habit of making fabric roses by hand. It impressed my professors in college, so I have Baccano! to thank for that.
