Construction Details:

honestly, I just wanted to make his cape. It's not 100% accurate because I used different flowers, but I'm still in love with it. I used heat n bond for the flowers (cut from printed cotton) but I also did a gold speckle under layer by diluting gold metallic acrylic paint with water and flicking a brush over the fabric. A small detail, but a beautiful one. I added some jewelry, his accessories, shirt, pants, dress shoes.

Personal Thoughts:

Story of this is--- My great photographer friend Brian C wanted to try some lowlight photos or photos that incorporated light, and I just happened to still have these Kyoto lanterns. At first we were going to just hipster it up, but I played Gyakuten Yoshiwara the last week of December thanks to steam sale and busted out that cape in 2-3 days!
