Construction Details:

I made this costume originally in 2007. In 2009, I did a major overhaul on it. I went in and added some finer detail to the scalloping at the hem of the dress. I also replaced my Halloween store wig with a much better one, that went through several iterations of styling. I'm very pleased with how much I improved the costume since its initial state.

Personal Thoughts:

In Otakon 2007, I accompanied my friend to take photos at a Kingdom Hearts photo shoot. I didn't really know much about Kingdom Hearts, but I saw a Namine cosplayer who was super adorable... and thus, within the next year I played through some of KH1 and all of KH2 and decided to do a Namine cosplay myself.<br />

I wore this in the Zenkaikon 2007 masquerade. SOMEHOW our skit won best in show, but that was definitely because no one registered any skits ahead of time, so the staff was basically like "hey cosplayers... who wants to make an impromptu skit for the masquerade tonight???"<br />

I wore this costume again that year at the Shikkaricon 2007 masquerade, where we placed either 2nd or 3rd (I wish I could remember which it was).
