About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
I altered a mens' costume pattern. I used a mixture of manga and anime reference. Most of the design is from the anime, but the patterned gold fabric is from the manga. I tied the knot buttons myself. I have ribbons on the inside to hold the inner front panel in place. I had to add darts to the back of the tunic to make it look less like a pillowcase when I wore it. Overall, I think it was a success!
- Personal Thoughts:
- This character is my favorite and I had so much fun putting this costume together!
Wig Details
- Styling Notes
- The bangs came originally short and cut straight across, but the wig was super thick in a ponytail, so I removed wefts from center back and sewed them into the bangs and trimmed them to the right length. I teased the bangs and used a hairdryer and hairspray to give the bangs volume. The rest of the hair is simply pulled back into a low ponytail and tied with a regular hair elastic. The bow is wrapped on top of the elastic and Velcros on the underside, with a hair pin on the inside to keep it in place.
- Wig Review
- The long wig tangles really easily where it rubs against my back after a long day, but it also brushes out easily since it's a straight wig. Overall, I still love the wig; it is thick and a beautiful color and it works perfectly for this cosplay.
