Construction Details:

Everything is fully lined, and the only things I didn't make myself were the pants and base boots.

The white shirt is polyester; it buttons in the front, the collar is interfaced and there's an elastic around each sleeve cuff to make sure it doesn't move from under my gloves! Nothing very exciting but I wanted to make sure it was accurate even if you can't see it.

The black vest is also polyester, it closes at the front with snaps and there's princess seams down the front and back (Heisuke's vest has them so I figured Hijikata's would too.) The buttons are only decorative: you can't see it that well on pictures but they're little flowers!

The kimono piece is Weird but accurate to game art, it's fitted and sleeveless and closes with buttons on each side. It was too complicated giving it a traditional closure since it doesn't close all the way on the sides ;q; The main part is polyester and the band around the neckline is a printed cotton with handmade leather bias tape around the seam. The gloves are one piece and just slip on without a closure if you wiggle around a bit. The top part is pointed and has the same bias tape even if you can't see it because I hate myself apparently.

The scarf is made with the wrong side of satin and polyester on the parts you can't see. The outside is pleated and it's basically just... two big squares... that slide into each other... it's not traditional but it lays better that way. There's snaps on the back to close it around the neck.

The black fabric on the coat is polyester, I'm not sure what the lining fabric is but it was gorgeous and expensive so I grabbed that since they were out of purple polyester, but I don't regret it! The gold bits are heat n bonded on, so are the flowers (I cut everything out of leather and painted it beforehand.) It's tight enough (especially with the shoulderpads) that it stays up on it's own, so the only real closure is the clasp on the front, under that gold button.

I made all the belt except the black one which I modified. I got the buckles from thrift storing, basically. They're all just big squares so there isn't much to say about them!

The boot covers are.... something. I basically wrapped up my leg and boot to figure out what the pattern was supposed to look like so it's far from perfect, I think I'll do a few more mockups next time I make them. They're kinda like chaps, I think? They snap closed on the inside and it was the only part I was worried about (I thought they'd slip down a lot more than they did.)
