Blouse- After 3 vintage patterns and one we drafter ourselves, we finally were able to pattern a mock up we were happy with. I chose an off-white peach skin because of the accurate weight/texture, but this lead to each and EVERY seam/hem needing to be hand basted before running through the machine. Her pintucks in game are not at all like those you typically see in real life, so we had several attempts to get them correct. I was really proud of the back of the blouse with one reverse pleat with 4 small tucks, all based off of 2 screenshots! The collar also has a unique shape which we drafted from scratch (although I will definitely be starching it next time!). The scarf/cravat was made from a stretch wool in the exact color of the skirt to give it more drape and flow. The sleeve cuffs button when fully extended or can roll up just like the game. I wore 2 extra padded bras and a corset to help mimic the overall silhouette.
n
nSkirt: The skirt by far is my favorite part of this costume! After 3 versions of mockups, I finally chose a fabric that I unfortunately cannot recall what it is anymore!! But I loved the weight of it, which was perfect for achieving her A-line partial circle skirt (lol). We added an invisible zipper hidden behind the pleats for easy in-out and the tabs snap on in the back to allow access to the zip. I chose to use a grey piping to edge my tabs with as I loved the contrast featured in her artwork. The skirt features lining with a lace hem that is tacked to the skirt so it moves just like in game. The brass buttons were scrubbed with a Scotchbrite sponge to give them a matte finish.
n
nBoots: I am still looking for a pair of base boots, but I found these on super sale at Modcloth. They are super comfy and achieve the overall aesthetic of the costume, but I hope to switch them out soon!
n
nNecklace: This also went through several different versions, but ultimately I went with the in-game look featuring the official brooch and a chocker printed by Etsyseller ShinraJunkie. - Personal Thoughts:
- I definitely identified with Elizabeth during the first part of the game because of her love of life and sincerity. I adored witnessing her discover all the facets of herself and ultimately choose her own fate despite everything against her. This costume took a team effort of 3 years to complete. This was definitely the most complex and difficult sewing challenge I've done to date and it could not have been possible without the help of TheRestlessCosplay, who put up with my obnoxious attention to detail and mental breakdowns XD
nAs a team, we were able to bring this costume to life the way I had imagined and for that I am so grateful and wouldn't trade this experience for the world!

- Styling Notes
- Teased/sculpted the bangs, locking in the shape by heat forming. Heat formed the S-curve waves on the sides of her face. Cut in her whispy pieces and heat-formed their shape and styled the ends with got2b glued pomade. Pulled the rest into a low ponytail and pulled slightly at the base to give the shape some body. I left the curls in the ponytail for round one, but I plan on straightening them to mimic her in-game look.
- Wig Review
- Super comfy and fun to wear! Fair warning- everyone will think you are Belle XD
