About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
Top: Bought a turtleneck knit on Amazon, then cut the sleeves and part of the backside, and added pleather/vinyl trim to the cut edges. For the cups, I bought sew-in cups and sewed pleather/vinyl over them, and then sewed them onto the top.
n
nSleeves: Modified a sleeve pattern into bell sleeves, then made the armor . Unfortunately this slides off easily throughout the day, so this does need to be fixed/modified at some point with elastic, probably.
n
nBelts: Made from pink fabric, interfacing, and the Keyblade Master emblem is made of craft foam. The belts can attach/detach from each other via a snap.
n
nCorset/waist cincher: Made from pleather/vinyl, lace, zip ties (for the boning), and black fabric for the inside. Unfortunately I made this the lazy way by adding a zipper in the back instead of making it a lace corset, so it's not 100% tight and it makes my gut stick out (even when it's not).
n
nBoots: I bought black boots and made the boot armor out of craft foam with silver vinyl fabric stretched over and glued over each piece. - Personal Thoughts:
- Aqua is the third cosplay I've made and my fourth I've worn! I had a really fun time making Aqua. I altered a turtleneck/boots/gloves, bought shorts/stockings, and made the skirt/corset/sleeves/armor/straps. This was also the first time I had used Worbla for the arm armor and the first time I had used insulation foam for her keyblade.

n

nFirst cosplayed in April 2016 at Anime Southwest.
