Construction Details:

Like a proper patchwork costume, I used mostly leftover fabrics from other costumes. So there's a variety of weights and textures pieced together, mostly cotton-based fabrics. Most of the costume was started as draping with muslin to create my own patterns.

nThe collar for the coat was the biggest challenge, with its various curving directions. I used wire at the front edges of a heavy-weight interfacing base. For the underside, I pad stitched the fabric to the base to keep it from sagging.

nI also sewed the bag and lined it to make it more functional. The tights were two different colored pair I cut apart and re-sewed together, which actually give me two pair to use.

Styling Notes

Very little styling was needed, just a little trimming after I put it on to shorten up a few spots. Schmendrick is usually a bit of a mess, after all.
