Construction Details:

The cloak and jacket were easy to sew--for the 'patch' I tried new method of using regular printer and printing onto fabric, which ended up okay. The pants were store bought. For the 3DMG, the bulk of everything was made with stiff foam-board. A lot of clear-PVC to hold the straps up cleanly. I am proud of my idea of using retractable dog leashes attached to the ends of the thigh canisters so when I walked, they moved with not (not clunking around!) Wires were random cords I bought second-hand. The straps were also made with pleather. The back engine was styled after the manga version.

Personal Thoughts:

I was enraptured by the 3DMG when it was first animated, so I binge-read the manga and took a thousand screen shots of the gear. This was, even to this day, the most technically complex cosplay piece I worked on.
