Construction Details:

I used the same pattern for the bodice as my Aurora dress, but I shortened it a bit for a slightly higher waistline like they had in the 50's, but I kept an angled waist line in the front to mimic Aurora's. The skirts (top and satin liner) are double circle skirts. I tweaked the sleeves for this look since as much as I love my sleeves from my Aurora costume, I didn't want my Dapper Day dress to look too "costume-y". The hair bow was also made for the same reason- I wanted it to look cute, and the tiara just seemed like a bit too much. I tried a plain headband, but the bangs hid it, so I needed an accessory that would be large enough to live up to the hair! ;3

Personal Thoughts:

While Aurora is not my favorite princess, she does have one of my favorite princess dresses, especially the pink one since that's one of my favorite colors to wear since it just makes me so happy! I really admire her outfits in her movie because of the classic style lines and especially for her hair! Aurora has such a feminine look and I really love her for that! I think her outfits are far more stylish than many of the other bulkier princess dresses which made her dress easily translatable into a modern style!
