Construction Details:

This was SUPER easy. The tunic thing was legit two rectangles, with a smaller rectangle for the collar. It didn't even have to close up the sides. The fabric was opaque enough that it didn't need to be lined. And all raw edges were finished with bias tape. The belt was just another rectangle. The pants were really easy as well. I used a pair of my pajamas for the pattern lmao. The white shirt I bought. Shoes were from my Ryoga cosplay.

The rose whip was fun to make. I bought a leather whip from Amazon, made Sculpy thorns, hot glued them on, then covered the entire thing in green floral tape. It took exactly four rolls. The spikes wound up actually being pretty pointy, like, they would hurt if actually used as a weapon. It hurt me a lot more than it hurt others though haaa

The wig was lovingly and graciously styled by my friend, KabukiRoad. She wanted to personally make sure her hazubando's hair was done right lol. I always thought Kurama's hair was kind of...weird?? It's an odd shape, has random flippy things here and there, but he also has high, poofy, thick 90s anime bangs. I really wanted to get it as close to the original as possible and I think my friend did an amazing job. It's REALLY thick (and a bit heavy!!), but I think it captures the feel of how it's drawn in the show :D

For Anime Boston 2016, I was dressed as your first anime boyfriend.<br/><br/>Kurama was made as my yearly throwback costume for Anime Boston. He's one of my favorite characters and I REALLY loved wearing this. I legit had girls screaming and fanning themselves at me lmao. I acquired many wives during the course of the con. I was also featured as one of the Queens for Cosplay Chess in this haha
