About this Costume
Construction Details:
This costume wasn't really that difficult honestly. I used a cheap soldering iron to create the design on the bodice. Photoshop was used to play with the pattern of the design so that I could print out 3 (maybe 4?) different full sheets and tape it together to make a usable pattern piece. The trim on the top is brown bias tape with metallic gold paint and rhinestones (I couldn't help it). I made a very, very high waisted skirt out of a dark purple satin, pleated down some black organza (I starched the crap out of those pleats), and attached black lace trim to the organza. I did the same Photoshop work for the design on the boots and painted them with Martha Stewart all purpose crafting paint! The accessories were made with components found on Etsy. :)
Personal Thoughts:
This costume is something I've wanted to make for about a decade now. o.O I played this game for the first time with some friends in high school and I was obsesssssssed with the characters and designs. I wanted to make Fiona's default outfit pretty badly, but didn't know how to make it. I'm glad I waited because I'm pretty pleased with how it came out and I probably wouldn't have done that well with it if I had tried back then lol.
Wig Details
Wig Brand
Arda Wigs
Wig Name
Ferrari
Original Color:
Ash Blonde
Wig Quality Rating
4 / 5.00
Styling Notes
I ran this wig under very hot bath water (basically the hottest it would go. It was very, very hot to the touch). So that I could get rid of most of the wave to the wig.
Wig Review
The only thing I'm nit-picky about is the color of the wig. It's certainly not at all Arda's fault. It's definitely accurate to the website, I just think I look awkward with this hair color. :< This could also be a personal problem (lol ughhh), but I felt that the top of the wig was very puffy and wouldn't stay smoothed down (possibly because I have a decent amount of hair to shove underneath and I need to learn how to smooth it all down better!).
