THANK YOU SO MUCH SPARKLEPIPSI FOR MAKING A SAILOR FUKU TUTORIAL (I don't know how we would've made her without it!) For the bows, collar, and skirt I chose cotton so that it wouldn't be overly flowy and stay in place. I used lycra for the leotard, hip rolls, and sleeves, as well as the chest armor (their's fleece under it so it'll poof out).
I made the brooch out of paper and a diy button pin, and colored the rhine stones with sharpies. I took a sharpie and went over the ornament and moon on the choker to make it shine a little better.
The tiara, boots, feather-clips, earrings, and bun shields were purchased from Catzia!
The gloves were from the Leg Avenue Sailor Moon costume that was released back in 2011 since I couldn't find any regular white gloves and was already pressed for time However, in Fall 2016 I purchased gloves and made the glove rolls in my spare time. The choker was also from the Leg Avenue costume but was touched up a little by me. - Personal Thoughts:
- I've loved Sailor Moon ever since I was little and the love (*cough* obsession) increases every year, so this costume was a MUST! I'm still new to using a sewing machine, so my mom helped me make the majority of it.
I wore this costume to Tupelo Comic Con 2016 (also their 1st year) and I was so happy when people asked for my picture/take a picture with me, and I was even more happy when I won Best in Show! I can't wait to wear her at the next con! :D
I'm VERY, VERY, happy and pleased with how she turned out!!!
Wig Details
- Wig Review
- The wig consisted of a Chibi, two hairbuns, and two long ponytail clips. I tied the buns to the Chibi's ponytail's and pinned them just to be safe. This was my first time using an Arda Wig and I'm very pleased with it! The only problem I would have is that the ponytail clips get tangled VERY EASILY!
