About this Costume
Construction Details:
Dress: The dress was originally purchased from the exceptional designer and cosplayer Joshua Hart when it unfortunately became damaged at Katsucon 2015. I thought I would be able to wear it with minimal alterations but unfortunately that was not the case. There was too much damage to the bottom of the dress to simply hem it (it would be too short) and since I could not find the exact same chiffon silk that he used, I was forced to remake the ENTIRE 3-layer skirt and train from the closest thing I could find locally. Also, I had recently lost over 50 pounds, meaning that the entire top needed to be redone. I took apart the layers, redraped it for my body, and reconstructed the entire top bodice all over again. The beading had to be redone, eyeballing the designs by using photos from his facebook as a reference. In the end, it was A LOT more work than what I bargained for, but I learned a lot in the end.
n
nBow and Arm-bands: I was able to re-use these and therefor did not make them. However, should I have needed to, I'm sure it would not have been too difficult.
Personal Thoughts:
I never thought in my entire life that I would ever cosplay Princess Serenity. Sailor Moon was the FIRST anime I ever got into, and its very dear to me.

Styling Notes
Also used: two long straight clips and a pack of long extensions in Light Blonde. I had made the odango using Styrofoam balled that were hallowed out. The pigtails were attached BEFORE gluing on the finished odango. The bangs were curled and HEAVILY styled to make what I feel were accurate bangs to the anime. Rhinestones were painstakingly hand applied all over the wig to finish this look!
Wig Review
THE PIGTAILS GET SO TANGLY OMG.
