Construction Details:

First off, this is the HARDEST costume I have ever had to make. Seriously what was I thinking?! It has like 20 meters of fabric in the whole thing and weighs about 25 pounds!!!!!!This character is from a Japanese Mobile RPG called GRANBLUE FANTASY which is insanely popular in Asia but there is no English version yet so you must be able to read Japanese to play it! This character is a SSR character, super rare but one of my favorites because her dress is just so freaking gorgeous!I made everything from medium weight cotton using a old simplicity renassaince dress patterns for the top bodice. Everything else was free handed. The white overskirt is heavy weight cotton with black lace appliques and silk flowers on the hem. I did not make the appliques but bought them wholesale online.The puffy sleeves are stuffed with tulle netting.For the staff I used a old lamp stand, made the tips from craft clay and wood peices then spray painted the bejesus out of it. The birdcage was a recycled mini cage for decorations, again with craft foam and clay added to it.As much as I love how this turned out I will have to make a few adjustments to make it more comfortable and easier to walk around in.

Personal Thoughts:

Oh god, this costume is awesome but so not awesome to wear. It seriously weighs a ton!!!! I will have to seriously work out to be able to carry this on my body for 8-12 hours straight....
