Construction Details:

This is made from 3 different types of satin. A crepe back satin, casa satin, and costume satin. The costume satin is the green layer, but I used the wrong side of the fabric to avoid the overly shiny look. I had a hard time finding colors that I felt matched my reference. This was the only green in any kind of satin that I could find in the stores in my area, and I went to 3 different ones! The pink I wanted ended up being a discontinued color, so I had to travel to 3 stores to get enough. Everything is made from scratch on this, except the petticoat. I did not make that. I didn't end up using a pattern, except for the pink layers. Its all circles and rectangles, very similar to Tenko. For the trim I wanted a little more texture to I added a bead for the small circle in the pattern. I still wanted to go back and add more detail to the larger circle, but I don't know if I honestly will at this point. The head dress is made from fun/ craft foam and a knitting needle. Everything is finished with a french seam, except the pink layers, they are lined. Being for a summer con I wanted to try to keep it as light as possible.

Personal Thoughts:

I can't believe I pulled this one off! 2015 was back to back con loaded at the beginning of the year. Katsucon, Anime boston, and the Colossalcon all were a little over a month apart and I was in all 3 masquerades. I was defiantly burnt out for this one, and due to illness and money restrictions only able to start about 3 weeks before the con. But I do love this rainbow cupcake, and love cosplaying in the Magi community! My talented friend LateralMoon makes the perfect Alibaba! Styling Notes

This was styled then re-styled after colossalcon so the head dress is now attached to the pony tails and hair loops that can completely detach from the wig.

Wig Review

The long wefts tangle very easy, this was ordered before the silky line was available.
