Construction Details:

Basically: The dress is two layers of corduroy (would not recommend! There is no stretch to it which makes it bunch up a a lot) with #10 gauge silver zippers sewn into the seams. I made the undershirt a separate layer, it's a white spandex/knit halter top with lace and a black hood.

The belt and pouch are vinyl, the shoes are canvas high tops painted with fabric paint (need to find something better for the rubber since it chipped a lot, or I should have started out with black shoes instead of white...)

I also put together a pearl pendant necklace, sewed the bracelets from leftover knit fabric I used for the undershirt, and cast a thalassa shell wayfinder from epoxy resin.

Finishing it out were blue circle lens contacts and a wig that I attempted to straighten and dye..(and might have just killed instead, whoops.)

Personal Thoughts:

I'd always kind of wanted to cosplay Kairi but usually had something I wanted to do more, so I'm glad I finally did this, and I'm unexpectedly in love with this costume! Things I usually hate include the color pink and short skirts, but I wanted something cute and simple and liked the design more as I made it. Zippers! Belts! Early '00s nostalgia!
