About this Costume

I started with a basic motorcycle helmet that had a visor. I got a used one on eBay for women in a small size since I am a small lady.
I removed the visor and used hot glue and foam to shape the ears and glue it to the helmet where I needed it. I proceeded to use air dry clay over the ears to make it sturdy and shape it better. I made a terrible mistake here. My clay ended up cracking everywhere and breaking off. I tried to add more clay. More cracking. Tried to seal the cracks with wood glue and a thinner layer of clay. It still didn't look right to me and I could only sand it so much without pieces breaking off. I got frustrated and with limited amounts of time, just went over it in paper mache. I then primed it and painted it. I make the S stencil and the check mark stencils by hand. I painted the blue first and then the yellow. Sealed it.
Took the visor and got window tint for cars from Walmart to tint it. It clumped up on the inside but isn't really noticeable from the outside. Because of this I actually couldn't see very well (on top of the fact that my breath made it foggy in colder areas; especially outside).
That was kind of it! - Personal Thoughts:
- I'm really not happy with how the helmet turned out, but I only had a month to make it and it was my first time working with air dry clay. Eventually I will invest much more time and some more money to make a way better one in the future.
Also to note, I only did alter the helmet. I bought the gloves and body suit online.
