About this Costume
Construction Details:
Armor: Everything is made from craft foam and worbla with worbla details. I made paper patterns first before cutting everything out by either holding up pieces of paper until I like the shape, or by using the saran wrap and tape method. I spent literally all of my free time priming and sanding all of the armor, it took FOREVER and it was awful, but I'm happy with how it looks! It was all painted with black, silver, and brass acrylic paints. Everything is held on with either snaps, velcro or d-rings with ties.

Clothes: I used the backside of a really shiny fabric so it wouldn't be so shiny and tbh I really liked how it turned out. The skirt and the skirt cape were all drafted by me and the jacket pattern was made by tracing a jacket that I already had that had a similar shape. Everything is self lined with ribbon top stitched onto the garments for the gold details. Boots are from Forever21

Staff: The staff has a wood stick base that I sprayed expanding foam on top of. After it cured (I used about 2 bottles), I set to work carving the foam into the shape I wanted using a box cutter. After I was satisfied with the shape, I went back and filled in any of the larger holes in the foam with extra little pieces of foam and then moved onto paper mache. After it was all covered in papermache, I primed it with gesso and painted it with brown and black acrylic pain.

Misc.: The jewelry was either made from worbla, or just basic beading. I also wore dance tights so I could attach the thigh pieces via velcro.
Personal Thoughts:
I MADE THIS COSTUME IN 2 MONTHS and there's so much I would change about it if I had had the time to be more careful with my work. But otherwise, I'm pretty happy with it. It's not as accurate to the reference as I would like it to be, but Diablo 3 is my all-time favorite video game and I always play as the wizard, so it was a lot of fun to make this costume.

Styling Notes
I stubbed this ponytail wig with hot glue instead of caulk, but it worked basically the same way. I also had to take in the wig because the smaller size would have been too small, but the larger size was too big. So I got the bigger size and took it in. Because this was my first experience with a pony tail wig, it could have gone a lot smoother, but ultimately I think it looked fine. I also trimmed the bangs, but I plan on styling them more heavily for the next time I wear her.
Wig Review
i hate ponytail wigs.
