About this Costume
- Construction Details:
-
So much work went into this Cosplay, I don't even know where to start! I only had 1 month to get this, my husband's Tuxedo Mask and my Seraphina done for AX, So I'm Surprised it turned out so well!!!!!
Corset:
A Pain in my butt! I Purchased a cheap one off of Ebay and took off 2 of the back panels because it was still to big for me. For the cups I used satin and beaded mesh fabric, which I patterned out and gathered, then sewed directly onto the corset. Afterwards, I hand stitched each section of red trim onto the boning to give it the proper look!
Skirt:
Is layers upon layers!
The white petticoat was one I already had - However - I added a good 3 layers of tulle to it, just to make it extra fluffy!
The Next Blue layer was patterned out in a circle skirt - 3 times my waist size - and gathered together (I made 2 of these) I Also hand stitched 2 Layers of Gold and Sheer Star Ribbon onto the edge of the skirt, as well as a white lace and red braided trim!
The Second blue layer had 2 layers of tulle inside which I pleated and gathered at the sides. The 2 bows holding it together we bought at Claire's.
The Red Layer is my favorite thing ever! It's the same fabric I used for my Husband Tuxedo Mask and it's absolutely gorgeous! I only needed 1 yard for this (according to my measurements. I cut out a rectangle of 30 l x 55 w, hemmed it, and hand stitched a braided gold trim to it! Then it was pleated to half my waist size and all 2 layers were sewn together and stitched onto the petticoat!
Bolero:
Was made from a gorgeous stretch taffeta and hand stitched with the same gold/star ribbon. It has the same beaded mesh from my corset for the sleeves and red braided trim along the edge. The Blue collar was pleated from the same fabric of the skirt and hand sewn on!
Wig:
Bought Last minute at Anime Expo because the one I ordered didn't come in on time! I styled it that night before my debut! - Personal Thoughts:
- This was one the the most fun costumes I ever created and it and a new favorite to wear! So much detail and hand sewing went into this and I'm so proud!
