Construction Details:

Not only was this the first time I was doing a comic book character, it was the first time I was working with spandex! Since I was using moleskin - which is pretty darn expensive with shipping - I asked Ellie Star to come and give me lessons. She helped me draft a pattern and by the end of it I was sewing all by myself! She was seriously my spandex guardian angel and now I feel ready to tackle a new project by myself! The whole leotard is spandex with spandex appliques. The goggles were a pair of black ones with red lenses that I repainted the right color. The boots were painted with NuLife shoe paint, spandex star appliques and I made red fabric straps with gold buckles to give it the finished look. The tube socks were red with all white stripes that I sewed on a blue section to. The gloves were by far the most evil part! I managed to get through it though and I'm super proud of them.

Personal Thoughts:

First dive into spandex! Lots of learning with this costume.
